Method of acquiring income

The foundation receives contributions for its activities from a number of sympathisers. These amounts vary in amount and regularity over time. In practice, donors are solicited extra as soon as the cash position makes it necessary. Word of mouth ensures sufficient attention.

The management and use of the institution‘s assets

The assets consist of cash at ING Bank, the board has the management. The basic principle of the foundation, there is zero overhead policy, any support is voluntary and is not remunerated. The board members pay their own travel and accommodation expenses and support services (administration, website ect.) are not remunerated. All income goes to the objective: moving medical teams to Ivory Coast / Burkina Faso / Mali in order to enable free orthopaedic surgery for children up to 18 years.

Interventions range from clubfeet X and O legs to some very astonishing defects most time solutions are being found.

After the intervention post operational care takes between 30 and 90 days. Apart from orthopaedic shoes lot of sessions of kin therapy are needed to get really back on your feet again.

Operations take place in Bonoua Ivory Coast (since 2014) and Ouagadougou Burkina Faso (since 2017) A total of 8 missions have been carried out (2014-2017). Over 200 children have been helped.

After a first day of consultancies the remaining days are used for operations on a mostly 8 - 18 schedule. KDD teams work in close cooperation with local medical staff and tries to establish transfer of knowledge and experience.
