Ka Dounia Dia organises medical missions to Côte d‘Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Mali twice a year. During thes​e 2-week missions, between 35 and 40 children are operated on free of charge by orthopaedic surgeons assisted by anaesthetists and operating assistants.

Objective and activities of the institution

The medical team works on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Travel, visa and accommodation costs are borne by KDD. Additional medical material for the missions and occasional medical equipment are also borne by the foundation, board members receive no remuneration, declare no expenses and pay their own costs if they accompany the medical missions.
